Dr Sanjana Acharya

Dr Acharya (Dr Sanjana as her patients call her) is a General Practitioner based in Forster NSW. She initially came to this Great Lakes Area in 2015 for what was supposed to be a six months training placement. Fast forward to now, her kids are in local high school; she has established deep roots in the community both as a clinician and as a parent.

She completed her hospital training at St George hospital and its network hospitals before undertaking General Practice training. Her hands were full with all sorts of medical and non- medical training/adventures. Neurodiversity was just not on her radar until 2025.

She dived into neurodiversity training purely based on community need, poor understanding of condition, peer support and an exciting opportunity to train with an exceptional mentor. Everything aligned beautifully! The insight and knowledge that came with the training has been transformational.

Dr Sanjana is a compassionate, empathetic GP who values lifelong learning to support her clinical practice. She enjoys a holistic therapeutic relationship with her patient. She is actively educating and supporting her patients.

Outside of work she enjoys gardening, adventurous sports, swimming, exercising, reading, and spending quality time with her children and dogs.

She speaks English, Nepali, Hindi and a bit of Urdu and offers culturally safe practice.

Rashmi Malhotra

Rashmi is registered as Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and takes an ADHD-informed approach to Counselling. She is a certified ADHD Coach and is a member of the Australian Association of ADHD Professionals (AADPA). She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Computing from Western Sydney University as also post-graduate qualifications in Applied Psychology from India.

Rashmi takes a compassionate, strengths-based approach to care, recognising that ADHD can also be associated with creativity, insight, resilience, and unique ways of thinking and relating to the world. This helps her clients to better understand their own unique patterns, reduce self-criticism, and develop practical strategies that genuinely fit their lives. She supports clients navigating challenges such as procrastination, emotional overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem, and feeling “not good enough,” while offering a safe and supportive space where they feel understood, validated, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Rashmi is particularly focused on supporting women who have been already diagnosed or in the process of getting diagnosed later, especially in their peri-menopausal and menopausal stages of their lives.

Having been born and lived in India in the formative years of her life before moving to Australia, Rashmi is extremely comfortable interacting and working with people from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. She understands the importance of culturally sensitive care and the different ways emotional wellbeing and neurodiversity may be experienced across families and communities. She speaks fluent Hindi, Marathi, and Punjabi in addition to English. Rashmi has been volunteering her services teaching scripture at the local public school for the last ten years. She’s also been volunteering her services as a Justice of the Peace (JP) at her local council and neighbourhood for several years, reflecting her ongoing commitment to supporting the community.

Hypnotherapy

Samal and Sudhir from SB therapy have over 20 years of experience in meditation and yoga. They trained to be hypnotherapists whilst working in very technical roles. They both hold Masters degrees in Management. Their path to holistic care was driven by their own personal experiences and awareness whilst practicing meditation, yoga and spirituality.

They are certified RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) practitioners, hypnotherapist, energy healer, specialist in Chakra balancing and sound healing.

These therapies are suitable not only for neurodivergent persons but also for neurotypical individuals and for those suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction and chronic illnesses.

Hypnotherapy offers nervous system regulation allowing subconscious energy to shift to manage sensory overload, reducing anxiety related to masking. It also improves focus and develops sustainable sleep routines.

Thus helping shift focus from ‘fixing’ neurodivergent traits to celebrate individual cognitive difference and hence boosting self esteem.
